The foundation has hired Virginia Non-Profit Associates LLC, which is overseeing the survey of 18 local organizations to find out what kind of programs they might like to put on in Chesterfield. The groups range from theater organizations like the Virginia Repertory Theatre to organizations focused on visual arts such as Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
Beth Johnson, a partner at the firm, said that so far, feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
“I think everyone realizes that it’s a market that hasn’t been tapped yet,” she said. “It’s a way to reach a broader audience that hasn’t been reached yet.”
